This quirky book has 18 tales about various unique characters. As the title suggests, all these people are either a circus folk or a village freak and these tales are about their extraordinary lives.
I loved how the stories are short, specific and written in a poem format. It gives out a fresh appeal. Each tale stands out on its own and gives us more than what we expect. Touching upon every kind of issue such as homosexuality, gender partiality, untouchability, out-casting and many more, this book has created a cauldron of tales that I’m going to cherish forever. The stories that the book starts with are hilarious and witty and gradually the tales turn heartbreaking and closer to reality.
It made me laugh out loud. It made me shed a drop of tear. It made me feel deeply about the issues that we come across daily. I’m glad that I got to read this beautiful book and I would definitely urge you to read it.
This is a book that you can gift someone, keep it on your coffee table or pick up from your shelf whenever you need a bit of poetry as well as a story in your life.
My Rating: 5/5
